Today I have created a landscape using fabric. I used a long needle and fabric in order to create this piece. Going over under and then vice versa with different colors until my landscape was finally complete. The goal for this project was to create something using a medium I had never used previously in all of my art classes. Overall I believe that this work came out better than I expected although some of the stitch work is patchy.

I have created an abstract, conceptual art piece for this project. I created this piece by using sharpies, markers, and a piece of white drawing paper (18x24). I drew each piece randomly as to give each of them a unique form (no two are alike), and then I traced over the lines with sharpie. Afterwards I began to color each of them in with different colors. Each color, each form represents another world and its current stability. The brighter the color the more stable the world, and the darker the color the less stable the dimension is. Colors of interest are the yellow fractures which represent a newly born dimension/world and black which represents a dead dimension lost to space and time. The goal of my art was to spread the idea that there are many ways that we could have ended up. I wanted my piece to represent multiverse theory which is the idea that there are other universes, dimensions, and Earths that parallel our own. There are always differences, some simple, and some quite radical. Overall I believe that my artwork could have been better but the colors are captivating and get my point across reasonably well.
For my reinvent the invented project I created some mugs with a more unique color palette. Since it is Fall and October I thought that I should create a more festive mug for the seasons. This lead me to create my own mugs/cups that I colored with Fall colors. I created my artwork by spinning clay on the potters wheel (throwing on the wheel). My goal for this project was to create usable mugs that portray the colors of Fall/Halloween. Overall I think my work was okay but it could definitely be improved in a lot of ways. I need to throw on the wheel more so that I may be able to create mugs of significantly higher quality.
The artwork that I created with my group looks very festive and colorful. We created a flag and colored it in with markers. In addition we created a PowerPoint presentation and brochure to portray our country. The main idea behind this piece was to create something that would be informative to our audience. Our goal was to create an educational product with good quality. Overall I think that our piece came out very well. The booth was small but it was well designed and informative to our audience.
I have created a collage of pastel art pieces representing a polar/arctic environment. To create this collage I used soft pastels, paper towel, grey tone paper, pencils, and an eraser. The big idea behind my work was to show off different aspect of the polar regions from the ice shelves, to the mountains, and even an ice berg. My goals were to improve my artistic skills with the soft pastels as it is a medium that I have not used very often. For the most part I have worked with paints and graphite so this was a new and interesting experience for me. Overall my drawing came out a lot better than I could have hoped. I did not expect to be able to make a decent drawing that incorporated realistic aspects (3D and perspective tricks with shading) to make the pieces more realistic. I believe that there is still considerable room for improvement with this medium, but for now I think the current quality will suffice.

For my 2D wet median art piece I have created a mask. The design was inspired by that of the Akashi masks from Africa. I created my art using watercolor and graphite pencils. I looked up images of Akashi masks and drew my mask based off those images. The idea behind my art work was to create something that represents African culture. Furthermore i wanted my art to resemble the Akashi masks. Overall I think that my work is okay. I honestly believe that I could've replicated the design of the Akashi masks. Furthermore I should've incorporated more abstract designs in my piece to make it seem more foreign and eye catching. Finally I should've used darker colors to further reference the Akashi masks as they tend to be darker in color.

AuthorHello! I'm Gabe I'm a reader, writer, and a gamer. I love Halo 5 (even though I suck at it). I also enjoy creating art using mediums like color pencils and water color paint (even though I'm not too good :p). ArchivesCategories |
